Paragraph 8.9.1 in Chapter 8 of the Code of Practice for Residential Care Homes (Persons with Disabilities) 
An RCHD should be responsible for protecting persons with disabilities from any kind of abuse, including physical abuse, psychological abuse, neglect, financial abuse, abandonment and sexual abuse.

Paragraph 8.9.5 in Chapter 8 of the Code of Practice for Residential Care Homes (Persons with Disabilities) 
To ensure that residents are free from abuse, an RCHD should formulate effective measures and provide clear work guidelines and arrange training and supervision for staff, in order to enhance their knowledge for identifying, preventing and handling abuse incidents.
