Paragraph 8.9.1 in Chapter 8 of the Code of Practice for Residential Care Homes (Persons with Disabilities)
An RCHD should be responsible for protecting persons with disabilities from any kind of abuse, including physical abuse, psychological abuse, neglect, financial abuse, abandonment and sexual abuse.

Residents should be provided with a safe and protected living environment. RCHDs should also formulate appropriate and effective measures to protect residents' privacy and dignity, and safeguard them from any form of bullying, assault or abuse.
